(Probably) the world’s first policing mobile phone app

Our ‘policing in your pocket’ mobile phone app is now live on the Apple App store and can be found by searching for Surrey Police.  This initial version is for people in Runnymede Surrey, but with feedback and interest from other forces I hope to soon roll out elsewhere.  Some features already work nationally, and there is Surrey wide content too.

The official launch will be on 23rd August in Runnymede, Surrey.  If you’d like more details please make contact.

This marks a key point in the development of our use of social media in Surrey and it is now becoming part of how we police.  With that in mind we are trying to make the twitter names for our officers and teams clearer, hence my change of name on Twitter to CSuptStephens.  However, gavthecop will continue on this blog.
